Grade 8: Lecture - Explore and Develop Our Strengths
Grade 8: Lecture - Explore and Develop Our Strengths
On a rainy Thursday afternoon on April 6th, students in eighth grade filed into the spacious school auditorium to attend a lecture by Angel Huang and Mia Wang, two counsellors from Gallup Consulting. The two counselors elaborated on the idea that we should explore and develop our strengths.
Ms. Huang first enthusiastically explained ideas such as how to tell what type of person you are and your place in the world. The teachers allowed students to interact in activities when interesting questions were asked such as who makes friends quickly in a party. Throughout these interactions, students could also learn more about themselves and their peers around them.
Then, Ms. Wang, talked to us in a whole different way. She took us through her whole experience during college, and told us about the difficult and also the fun parts. Every student found the story very intriguing.
The end was the best part, because it included some important quotes. The one liked best by students was "You're responsible for your own life". This means that every student can control what they want to do with their lives and live life to its full extent.
