Puxi Grade 1 and Grade 3: Reading Buddy

During Personal Growth class on April 6th, the third graders had reading buddies from first grade. Every third grader brought a book that was exquisitely selected for the first grader. The ‘big brothers and sisters’ read the books for their first grade ‘siblings’ with patience. They indulged themselves in the world of books.

Books are perhaps the most intimate friends of human beings. The Reading Buddy activity is all about reading and sharing. By reading books to the first graders, the third graders sensed the meaning of sharing and gained joy from reading. By listening to stories, the first graders felt the charm of storytelling and were inspired by the books. Although they were not familiar with each other, books served as the bridge that connected their hearts. The kids are now looking forward to the next time they will see their reading buddy!
