Grade 6: Joining in at the Cultural Bazaar

Would you like to be a food specialist and taste all kinds of food in the whole world? Do you want to know about other countries in the world? If you say yes, then, you’re lucky to be able to participate in the cultural bazaar. It took place at the end of March, just as the 8th graders announced a few days ago. Although it was raining heavily, nothing could stop us from having a great day!

The cultural bazaar was held by 7th and 8th graders. Each homeroom picked a country they wanted to research, and then they made posters about the countries they had researched. They had a lot of fun trying to sell their food, and getting to know the techniques used to sell a product.

However, we 5th and 6th graders also had fun in the cultural bazaar as customers. The teachers of the homerooms told their students the task they were supposed to complete at the cultural bazaar. The students in each homeroom were divided into six groups, and each group was assigned a continent. Every group had to make a poster about the countries of their continent. Even though there wasn’t much time, the students were able to make notes about the countries and hand in their posters on time. Many students still had time to buy the snacks they liked, such as tacos and ice cream.

The fifteen minutes flew away as some of the students ran back to the building, and some rushed to the cafeteria. The 7th and 8th graders learned techniques to sell things, and also the culture of each different country. For the 5th and 6th graders, they learned not only the culture of countries but also the most popular foods in different countries. Even though this cultural bazaar was the very first of its kind, we could say it was a complete success.
