Puxi Grade 4: Bringing Ancient China to Life

On the third day of Chinese Culture Week, our Grade 4 students performed classic textbook stage plays in each classroom. They made full preparations for these classic drama performances– they even practiced during break time! In order to learn more about the personality of the characters in the text, students were required to work in groups and decide by themselves which characters they would play. The students were filled with enthusiasm and tried their best to demonstrate the personality of each character in the story. They also bought many amazing costumes online. During the play, they used props and costumes that were specifically made for the story in order to make the plays as good as they could possibly be. With excellent facial expressions and gestures, the characters in the text came to life. Performing Drama is a good way to increase students’ interest in Chinese learning and enhance their cultural accomplishments and aesthetic abilities. We hope more and more students get involved!
