Biology group: discussion of AdvancED preparation

On March 22nd, SHSID’s Biology Teachers’ group has carried out a discussion regarding AdvancED. Teachers from junior and senior grades took part in a serious retrospective, and thought deeply about their teaching experiences. Also during the meeting, a homework check for Grade 7-8 was also completed.

The discussion started with a learning environments observation. Gu Yin, the leader of the Biology group, introduced and explained the ELEOT (Effective Learning Environments Observation Tool) rating guide, including feedback, improved methods and collecting evidence. Gu encouraged teachers to observe each others’ classes and share thoughts and resources. By making better plans for homework, classes and student projects, the teachers learnt a lot from the AdvancED process taking place here at SHSID.
