Pudong Grade 5: Paper Airplane Assembly Line

On March 23rd, Pudong’s Grade 5 Geography classes discussed the purpose of assembly line production and how it impacted the United States during the Industrial Revolution. The assembly line was used by US car companies to create things faster, and of higher quality. We demonstrated the impact it had through an activity of making paper airplanes. Half of the class made as many airplanes as they could all by themselves while the other half used an assembly line to produce their planes. After a 5-minute period, the assembly line group had a larger stockpile of better quality planes, proving the value of an assembly line.
