Puxi Grade 3: Let’s Be superheroes!
Puxi Grade 3: Let’s Be superheroes!
This semester, the students of Grade 3 are going to show the entire school that they are Superheroes! HEROES actually stands for six traits:H stands for Helpfulness, E for Empathy and Exceptional, R for Responsibility, O for Optimism, and S for Self-management. Third graders are expected to possess these six traits.
There will be pieces of paper on the bulletin board with actions that correspond with each trait. When a student completes the activity, they will get to write their name on the paper. Each student will receive a superhero mask, which they will decorate. At the end of the month, students will each choose three students they feel the most exhibited these core values, and explain their choices. These votes will then be turned in to the teachers, and the teachers will choose the six students that most actively showed each of the HERO traits. That student will get to participate in a video wearing their mask to portray being a superhero of that core value. They will also have their picture taken and put up on the bulletin board and they will receive a certificate.
One Personal Growth class per month will be set aside to introduce and discuss the month’s trait. Each class will make a presentation during Personal Growth. The assigned class will show their presentation during the 3rd/4th grade assembly.
We believe the third graders will achieve their goals with consistent efforts! Let’s look forward to the super behavior of these superheroes!
