High School Economic Department: Faculty’s Seminar

The Economics department held a faculty seminar on March 23rd in Room 202 of the Xianmian Building, discussing further details about the “Monopoly Day” on March 29th and the “Global Citizen Day” on April 17th.

For our schools first ever “Monopoly Day”, the teachers confirmed six activities from which students can earn fake SHSID money. Also discussed and decided were the teachers and student volunteers responsible for each activity, activity rules and facilities needs, and the amount of money students can earn from each activity. All the teachers shared and suggested interesting ideas in order to make the “Monopoly Day” successful.

Later, the teachers discussed the arrangement of the “Global Citizen Day”. In the morning of that day, History, Psychology and Economics teachers will discuss hot global issues in different classrooms and students will be able to go to these classroom based on their interests. The Economics teachers decided to talk about globalization and they aimed to guide students to have a more comprehensive understanding of this issue through video, group discussion and group presentations.
