SHSID Won Several Awards at the 32nd Shanghai Adolescents Science and Technology Innovation Contest

On March 17th, the final and most exciting chapter of The 32nd Shanghai Adolescents’ Science and Technology Innovation Contest began at the Shanghai Science Hall. There, the teams who earned the honor to compete for first prize presented their mind-blogging ideas and amazing inventions. The final round required students to take STEM tests that evaluated their basic knowledge and skills. The most exciting part of the day was when the students had to give explanations of their chosen topic and the answer challenging questions from the judges. Every single piece of work has hours, days, and even years of effort put into it. One of the SHSID teams consisting of 8(10) Gabriel Zhang, 9(4) Nicole Zhou, 8(1) Emily Jiang, and their advisor teacher Ms. Liu spent more than one and a half years experimenting, researching, and writing for their project, titled in Chinese as ‘对比预口服不同品牌葡萄籽提取物保健品对小树全脑低灌注导致的痴呆症的影响’. Let us congratulate them, for hard work pays off. They successfully entered the final round and won first prize for the field of medicine and health, and also the “Pharmacy Award” from the Shanghai Pharmaceutical Association.

Of course other teams of SHSID also won prizes and awards. A project by Tu Dejia and Angel Qian titled in Chinese as ‘上海雾霾颗粒物中微生物品系分析’ won second prize in the field of Microorganisms. Zhang Tianyu and Richard Ruiqi Li’s project, titled ‘沪上有机与非有机蔬菜无机营养与重金属调查’ was awarded third prize in Botany. Let us congratulate the SHSID teams for their effort and achievements once more. We hope to inspire more colleagues and classmates to put effort into reaching their dreams.
