Grade 6: Rope Jumping Competition

On March 16th, the fifth and sixth grade hosted their annual rope jumping competition. This wasn't just an easy activity. This was a great competition that needed all the students to cooperate.

Practice for long rope jumping started around the second or third week. Students participated and chose who would take part in the competition. This was not a simple task. Instead of just jumping, each homeroom discussed their tactics and set goals. Those were tough goals. Some of the goals were as high as 250 jumps in three minutes.

The students didn’t waste any bit of practice time. Outside the building, the short rope jumpers preformed not only fast skipping, but also tremendous feats with their ropes.

Finally, the competition came. The atmosphere became especially intense. Students kept calling out their class numbers and encouraging their classmates to keep up. The long rope jumping was so intense that some classes broke their records and did as many as 270 skips in three minutes. The short rope jumping also tested the cooperation of the students. The five representatives from each class preformed the best short rope jumping as a whole. The score of each competitor in each class was added up to form the class score. The short rope jumping score was gigantic.

At last, the winner was announced. The winners of the sixth grade long rope jumping were class 6(4). This was not just by chance, but related to the effort they put in. The short rope winning class is to be announced, and I’m sure that the result will be stunning.
