Opening the Doors of Creative Writing to Ignite the Mind

In the Middle School, the Chinese teaching and research group has always paid attention to the cultivation of students' literary qualities and creative potential, especially in the Grade 5-8 Native Level group. The teachers always aim to broaden the children's writing horizons. Many activities, such as the speech contest, writing competition, Guoxue contest and debate, are designed to shape the children's comprehensive literary qualities. At the same time, the teachers constantly bring in content from the outside world to create a free and open learning environment, encouraging the students to express themselves on multiple platforms and enhance their writing level.

Last semester’s Tao Fen Cup essay contest, was titled the "Shen Shixi Animal Novel Creation Big PARTY", and co-sponsored by The Juvenile and Children's Publishing House and Shen Shixi Animal Novels Studio. We received a confirmation letter from the organization tell us that the works ofRao Run from 6(4) and Zheng Lanting from 5(3) were selected for publication in the "Shen Shixi Animal Novel Big PARTY" series. This mean they will not only get comments and feedback from Mr. Shen Shixi, but have their debut writing published alongside the work of Shen Shixi and other famous writers who have written animal-themed stories.

This great honor not only affirmed the students’ efforts and hard work, but also the level of Chinese teaching in SHSID. All the Chinese teachers’ hard-work was not in vain. They will continue to look forward to opening the children’s minds and watching their wisdom grow!
