Grades 9-10:Pi Day

Students at SHSID have eccentric passions for different subjects. Math is certainly a subject that many find to be treacherous and tiresome. However, others embrace the more wondrous and entertaining facets of math. Pi Day was a perfect demonstration of those facets, as students furthered their passion for math through various math-themed booths that challenged their minds. By the ring of the second bell, the front lawn of the Zhong Xing Building was full of students. A small crowd of 10 students huddled in front of a white board, peering inquisitively at a tricky math problem that had been written on the board. Other different booths were also open to students. There were a few games that teachers ran indoors, and other activities were held outside. Students especially enjoyed playing minesweeper, solving Sudoku puzzles, and watching other students pull off impressive feats of Pi recitation. It was certainly an enjoyable event that deepened everyone’s love for Mathematics and will be something for students to look forward to next year.
