Primary Section: Dr. Seuss Week

During the week of March 6th, 2017 the primary school English division celebrated one of the most famous children’s author Dr. Seuss. Throughout this fabulous week students and teachers participated in a variety of activities. Each day the primary school teachers and students dressed up according to different themes.

During our English classes, students learned about who Dr.Seuss was as person, author, and illustrator. The English teachers enjoyed reading some of the many books by Dr.Seuss, to their students. Students were given the opportunity to try and read some of his tongue twisters, and many were successful.

The grade 1 and 2 students enjoyed reading Green Eggs and Ham while trying green eggs and ham themselves in their pajamas. The 3rd and 4th grade students were given a challenge to dress up as a vocabulary word. During the personal growth class on Thursday, March 9th, 2017 the students participated in a scavenger hunt. They needed to find synonyms, words they didn’t know, and so much more. The students really enjoyed celebrating Dr.Seuss, one of the greatest children’s authors of all time. The students learned to love reading even more, and are now more prepared and excited for the upcoming Reading Encouragement Month!
