Grade 8: Lecture on Selecting High School Courses

On March 9th, 2017, all 8th grade students gathered in the auditorium and listened to the 9th grade teachers’ lectures about their High School course selection process.

Every teacher welcomes students to join his/her class. They pointed out that the most important aspect is that students should pick a course fit and interesting for themselves. Next, the teachers lectured individually on the selective course options for 9th grade. For example, Art could be further separated into oil painting, sketching and woodcutting, and students who select Music will learn about modern music as well as music around the world. The Geography teacher talked about learning about geology, atmosphere, and the physical characteristics of the earth. Students who choose Biology will learn about ecology and evolution. The IT course is mainly on visual media and programming, while Economics students will learn about economic theories and international trade, etc. This lecture on course selections gave students a general idea on goals of different subjects, so that everyone could better plan their high school study path.
