Grade 11: Class Activity

On March 1st, 11th graders gathered in their homerooms to engage in class activities for the first CAS period of the second semester. The school recognizes the paramount importance of the homeroom, so it organized these activities to rebuild in-homeroom relations frayed by the wide range of other classes and activities going on in the school. Homeroom teachers and students jointly designed and decided the games they wanted to play. Every class enjoyed a different game—examples include running man, class karaoke, and kahoo.

As the activities progressed, the awkwardness that had dominated the atmosphere gradually gave way to a certain closeness, like that of old friends reconciled after years of separation. All the students were quiet and uneasy around those they were unfamiliar with, but soon after the classes started, everyone took an active part in the game. Next week, each class is also going to present their activities to their fellow students in other classes and grade each other’s activities, allowing students to look into what it is like in other classes as well. It was a rewarding CAS session for everyone.
