Grade 9:College Counselling Course(2)- Summer School
On the Wednesday of February 28, 2017, 9th Grade students came to the auditorium to listen to Ms. Cui speak on how to effectively spend the summer vacation. She strongly recommended students to participate in summer school.
The Columbia School of Business summer school and the Harvard Summit are held at SHSID, which makes them a great convenient choice for SHSID students. There are also biology, science and technology, writing, and volunteering summer schools all over the United States and the United Kingdom, and they are worth taking a look at. In a summer school in Berkeley, students can join the university undergraduate college course to get early college credits, which will benefit their future applications to universities in Grade 12. In addition, Ms. Cui also introduced a number of internships around the world. Many of these internships are very challenging, but present a great opportunity for students.
Why did Ms. Cui recommend summer school? It is because students who participate in the summer school not only learn, but also make friends all over the country and the world. Summer schools are a way to learn more about the cultures of different countries, and also add credits to one’s college applications, or get a professor’s recommendation letter. We hope all our students are informed about summer school, choose the right school, and accumulate wonderful experiences over the next summer vacation!
