A Fresh New Start for SHSID Primary Students

Feb 16th was a new start for all the primary students in SHSID. On that day, each student started their second semester of School Year 2016/17. In the morning, the students rushed into the classroom with great excitement and greeted their teachers and classmates warmly. They had returned to their teachers, classmates, classroom and new text books! Everything made everyone look forward to the new semester.

Of course the high point of the whole day was the Primary School Opening Ceremony. The students stepped into the auditorium to the tune of a cheerful “Happy Chinese New Year” song. This year in China is the Year of the Rooster. All the students were very impressed by what Ms. Bao, the director of Primary Section, SHSID taught them during her speech in the ceremony. Ms. Bao taught all the students a Chinese poem and encouraged all the students to make progress everyday by practicing two sentences from the poem. The sentences could be translated as “When you are climbing a tower or a mountain, if you want to see the beautiful scene farther, you have to climb one story higher”. This is the expectation from all the teachers. All the teachers and parents hope that every student may keep making progress everyday in the coming new semester.

This is a fresh new start for every student in SHSID’s Primary Section, and hopefully it will be a great semester too!
