Non-native Chinese Group Students’ Mini Auction

The most popular activity in this semester is the students’ mini auction. Before the auction, students from 4 different levels in both Puxi and Pudong campus prepared things such as the reading auction notice, getting familiar with the process, choosing the auction item, fixing a price, and making SHISD paper currency. Every student looked forward to the auction. Pudong campus even assembled all students from different levels, now let’s join the spectacular moment together.

After Ms Shen banged her gavel, the Mini Auction started. In the beginning, both the owners and the buyers were very nervous. Soon after, as the auction items were displayed more and more, the atmosphere became warmer and more exciting.

The most popular good was one erasable pen. The starting bid was 10 yuan, and every time someone raised the price, it was for 2 yuan. The price was all the way up to 40 yuan and that is the total amount. There were 3 bidders wanted to buy this pen with 40 yuan, and no one wanted to give up. In the end, they used paper, scissors, rock to find the final winner.

Bidders had the same experience with a pencil sharpener. It was bought by na Indian girl with 40 yuan.

The auction items included variety of stationery and toys. Every owner prepared a very detailed introduction for their product. They were able to improve their speech and writing skills a lot through this mini auction.

The mini auction ended before we knew it, leaving all students wishing the happy hour last longer.
