Puxi Grade 5: A Charity Journey to Shanghai Healing Home

The fifth graders of Shanghai High School International Division paid a visit to Shanghai Healing Home, a foster home assisting local Chinese children by providing pre and post- surgical care to abandoned Chinese orphan babies born with surgically correctable deformities. Student delegates donated 15,000 YUAN to this non-government organization. Under the help of the manager Jessica, and her husband Aaron, we understood that most of the babies at Shanghai Healing Home had medical problems but, Healing Home provided care during and after surgery until they were fully recovered. The oldest child Paul, aged at six, said it felt like a real home at Healing Home. We had fun learning and caring for the little kids. When we left, babies couldn’t stop crying. We all hope that the children there would be adopted very soon and have responsible parents after the treatment in Healing Home.
