Love Music for a Merry Christmas -"Music for Patients" Group Christmas Concert
Love Music for a Merry Christmas -"Music for Patients" Group Christmas Concert
"Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell, Jingle on the way...," with this famous Christmas song carolled by all members of “Music for Patients” Group, the Christmas mini concert held in the Outpatient Hall of Renji Hospital came to the end.
This was the third charity concert held in this hospital by the group. The previous two concerts that were held on 28th of October and the 18th of November, respectively, were highly appreciated by the patients, their family members, and staff in the hospital. Kingsley and his members were responsible for planning and arranging the event. Catering to the Christmas atmosphere, team members designed a variety of music elements. Kingsley and Terence had specially prepared some light classical and modern piano pieces. A musical ensemble and vocal solo were also added for the first time. They preformed things such as a Cello and violin ensemble "Humoresque" by Sammi and Chantel, a flute and violin ensemble "Edelweiss" by Connie and Clarie, and a piano accompaniment solo "All of Me" by Michelle. The beautiful interpretations by a young musicians, with a variety of musical instruments and performance styles, were highly appreciated and resonated. During the chorus of Christmas songs by all group members and school teachers, the kindly Santa Claus, played by Mr. Shen Tian Yuan, delivered some beautifully packaged Christmas cookies to the audience. The whole Outpatient Hall was full of laughter and happiness as members of the audience cheered the young musicians. Prof. Min Jianying(Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee), Professor Yuan Huiyun(Propaganda Department of Renji Hospita)l, Mr. Liu Lian(Vice Chief Director and Middle and Primary School Principal), and Mr.Ni Minxue(Director of Grade 7-8) attended the concert. A Shanghai Oriental Television reporter has filmed the live performances, and also interviewed Mr. Liu and Project Leader Kingsley Poon.
We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! "Music for Patients" group activities will continue in the new year.
