Grades 9-12: Economics Department Faculty's Seminar

On the afternoon of Dec.15th, economic department held a faculty’s seminar in Xianmian Building. The seminar was held by the head of economic department Ms. Zhang Li.

The main topic of the seminar was the discussion around the form and contents of the “Economics Day”. The “Economics Day” is the subject activity that will be held by the department in the next semester for the first time. It aims to use interesting activities and games to let more lower grade students have a first taste of economics, which will be helpful for them when they select courses. On the seminar, teachers actively shared their ideas and purposed many interesting and fancy ideas and plans such as auctions games to sell second hand things, barter market trading and debate etc. The school could prepare the SHSID currencies for the students in such activities to mock the real trading process and thus let students know the economic principles behind. All the teachers in the department planed the event day with great creativity and passion and they hoped that students could intuitively get some economics knowledge through their personal experience and thus were cultivated with great interest in economics.
