Grade 11: Art Festival

December the 21st morning, the juniors and seniors gathered together for the 2016 Art Festival. During this busy month, all of the performers devoted their time to practice, hoping to deliver fabulous performances.

Talented singers of both grades delivered extraordinarily touching songs, immediately grabbing the audience’s attention and creating an emotional setting of love. Rappers and hip-hop artists burned the stage by their gifted swag. While the rappers and singers excited the audiences through their voices, dancers fascinated the audiences with their aesthetic movements.

For this year’s Art Festival, some special guests also joined in. SHSID alumni were coming back during their Christmas holiday were some of these guests. Elaine Shen from Class of 2016 came to the stage as the representative of the alumni to share her college experience. She also gave some advice to our students, and at the end she and some other alumni draw a lottery for the students.

The Art Festival went on. A big surprise was sent when 12th IB students finished their performance. They prepared a song to express their gratitude to the teachers, which moved everyone.

Last, but not the least, teachers responded to the students’ effort on the performances. About 30 to 40 of the Chinese teachers showed their superb dances to the students. Foreign teachers played piano and guitar along with their singing. It was a great opportunity for everyone to see such exquisite performances. Now, we are looking forward to the next Art Festival that will be held on 2017!
