Puxi Grade 1: Students Created Their Own Planet

Recently all the first graders have been learning the Solar System and all the eight planets. The science teachers designed a very creative and useful project called “Planet of Your Own” for all the students. Every student was given a styrofoam ball as a planet. The students were encouraged to color and design this ball into a very unique planet. The students were also required to figure out this unique planet’s name, distance from earth, and and also it’s basic features.

After everybody finished with their planet, every student was given the opportunity to give out a short speech introducing their own planet on December 19. The science teachers showed the excellent planet work to encourage every student.

From this project, all the first graders have strengthened their basic ideas about all the planets they have learned. They have also further developed their great imaginations.
