Non-US College Fair News
Non-US College Fair News
On December 8th, 2016, SHSID held a non-US College fair at XMT Building, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. This event assembled information and resources from multiple universities across continents, inviting college representatives from universities in Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and even China. More than 14 universities participated in this event, including Waseda University, University of Hong Kong, Shanghai JiaoTong University, all providing informative sessions for students and parents.
First, SHSID High School Councellor, Ms. Zhang Li, commenced the college fair by providing a brief overview of the college application process. Then, representatives from individual universities were assigned to different classrooms, delivering direct Q&A sessions for the participants. The college fair also allocated an independent section for those interested in arts majors, inviting the admission officer from the University of the Arts London and SHISD senior Ann Chen, who just recently got accepted into UAL, to share their insight on the application process.
This session attracted many juniors and parents to participate, many of which responded with positive feedback, appreciating an opportunity to gain more knowledge on non-US colleges. As seniors are almost ending their application season, this college fair opened juniors to more possibilities and further prepared them for their college applications next year.
