Grade 11: Speech Competition

The English Speech Contest for Senior High School was held on Dec 7th CAS. This year’s competition was very appealing from the beginning. The hosts of the competition used a humorous opening to light up the atmosphere at the start. Then, all of the contestants stepped to the stage to do the self-introduction. After that, the standard group competition started. Three contestants made a speech for a given topic and the judges determined the winner. For the Higher-level contestants, they gave the speech they prepared and were challenged by the judges. After that, the top three contestants competed at the final championship contest. They gave a speech with a prompt provided on the spot and the student and teacher judges voted for which speeches the thought were the best. Before the announcement of the winner, Elaine from 11(5) gave a wonderful performance to the audience. At the end, all the prizes were announced. The First Prize for Higher Level was Mon Ting from Grade 12. Senior High School Director, Ms. Liu, presented the award to the winner.
