Grade 6: Colorful Career Day
Grade 6: Colorful Career Day
Career Day on December 1st was so exciting! After the fifth period ended in the afternoon, all the homerooms were crowded with 5th and 6th grade students, who were all gathered on the 1st floor and 2rd floor and looking forward to having their Youth Development and CAS class.
Every student had already selected four lectures that they wanted to participate in. In fact, all topics were interesting, such as: What Will 2030 Look Like, The History of Video Games and so on. The topics were presented by some volunteer parents and teachers from the school.
The lecturers shared their career stories with us, which were valuable to learn from. For instance, high tech and advanced engineering will make our lives very different by 2030. We learned that designers, programmers, supervisors and testers need to work together very closely during video game development. We learned that everyone can face problems when they are working, so perseverance is particularly important when we hit problems. We should keep on going, never give up, and at last we will be successful.
Meanwhile, the lecturers also brought special treats for us. People who answered questions correctly could get these as the rewards. This added a little extra fun to the lectures.
Career Day is a great resource that the students can use to learn more about a variety of jobs and different responsibilities, some of which may correspond to their dreams.
