Puxi Grade 3: Practicing Text-Based Drama--Money for Meal

Grade 3 Native Chinese students practiced the text-based drama ‘Money for a Meal’ recently.

Money for Meal is a story about a smart and humorous person called Effendi. Effendi helped the poor pay money for smelling meals at the gate of a restaurant. The distinctive characters in the text left a deep impression on all the students.

Students worked in a group and decided to characters they would play for the drama performance. They performed well and captured the personality of each character in the story, which filled the Chinese class with laughter.

To practice text-based dramas is a further requirement for Grade 3 Native Chinese students in their language use and expression skills. The teachers hope our students can further understand the main ideas from this text through their drama performance.
