Puxi Grade 4: Parents’ Talk for Career Day

On the first day of December, Grade 4 had five special guests come to the auditorium in the Xianmian Building to share their experiences and introduce their respective professions.

Corrine’s dad from class 4(3) gave us a speech on industrial automation. He started with a brief description of automation and then used a smart machine to show us how a general or customized manufacturing center can replace production lines manned by operators. Megan’s mom from class 4(4) talked about things on the Internet which have become more and more popular in contemporary society. We also had Tony’s dad from class 4(5) introduce the concept of aging, as well as its situation in Shanghai. Chiyori’s dad from class 4(6) presented a very interesting video about intelligent robots. He even forecasted what might be coming in the future of artificial intelligence. For class 4(1), Jacob’s dad invited a very famous pianist named Song Siheng whose topic was the road of the pianist. When it came to the secret of success, Mr. Song told all students that the only way is to practice again and again. At last, he played for the audience. Every student became lost in the beautiful music.

The parents’ talk helped students broaden their horizons and encouraged them to pursue their interests and take actions that eventually will contribute to the rest of their lives.
