Grade 9:A Visit to Honeywell
Grade 9:A Visit to Honeywell
On November 28th, 22 grade 9 students from SHSID paid a visit to Honeywell China under Ms. Yu Zhen’s leadership.
Entering the lobby, they came upon the largest Honeywell Technology Experience Center. In the center, the company welcomed the students with a short video that briefed the industry fields and main products that Honeywell is involved in, while conveying the main theme of the company: future vision.
Finishing the video, the students were guided to tour around the company in different sections. In the “Voyage Section”, they learned about various kinds of airplanes that could be utilized for civilian use or farming. In the “Convenience Section”, they saw diverse scanning machineries which function in hospital, factories and supermarkets. In the “Home Life Section”, they saw different kinds of air purifier, water purifier and refrigerants. Honeywell also produces control system between the apartment and the whole living building. In the “Engineering Protection Section”, they found how Honeywell are producing safety devices that can protect people working on dangerous jobs.
After lunch, students were separated into two groups and take turns to visit the air lab and the water lab forfurther exploration of Honeywell. Three Honeywell officers provided them with a Q&A session. Students not only satisfied their curiosity, but also gained experience for university applications and career choices.
This Honeywell China journey not only let the students see the high-tech products in Honeywell, but also helped them learn from elder people about the world of work.
