Grade 9: Renaissance Fair

On November 23rd, amid the steady drizzle, was SHSID’s celebration of 400 years of Shakespeare— the Renaissance Fair. Students and teachers adopted new identities and dispersed throughout Ranaissance-themed social classes, enjoying Renaissance-themed food, drink and entertainment. Stepping into the Xian Mian Tang Annex, the path ending at the auditorium was thronged with people peering at and purchasing from food and activity stands, and inside the Annex Auditorium, sundry entertainment ranged from the sonnet recitation to Shakespearean plays. Xian Mian Tang’s main building accommodated the majority of clubs and teacher-led activities, and the "Midsummer Night’s Dream" musical riveted the audience all three times the team performed at the Grand Auditorium. Students have awaited this day for 400 years, and it did not disappoint!
