Pudong Grade 1: Tongue-Twister Activity

“Betty bought butter but the butter was bitter, so Betty bought better butter to make the bitter butter better!” Can you say that 5 times without getting your tongue twisted?

During a PG class, our first graders had an opportunity to practice reading several English tongue-twisters out loud. Then, they had the chance to compete with each other! We divided each class into 6 groups and had students face off against each other by saying a chosen tongue twister three times. The teams that said it correctly got a point.

We hope that our students continue to practice tongue-twisters out loud for better pronunciation!
