Grade 7: Lecture on Friendship-Do You Want Friends or “Frenemies”?

On November the 17th, Ms. Claire Lin came to SHSID primary school auditorium to give all of the 7th grade students a lecture in their CAS class. Ms. Lin came to us from the Body & Soul Medical Clinic. The lecture was mainly about how teenagers should treat their friends and avoid bullies at school.

To start the lecture, Ms. Lin showed the students videos related to the lecture. These videos were all directed and acted by different groups of 7th grade students who were actually sitting in the audience. All the short videos contained an interesting and complete story and taught us a different lesson about friends and bullies. The students all laughed at their classmate’s dramatic acting and learned quite a few things about how to treat friends and bullies. Ms. Lin talked about what we should do when friends fight, what we should do about gossip and rumors, and what we should do when facing bullies. Ms. Lin also interacted with the audience and let the audience talk about friendship between boys and girls. Students discussed actively and some of the students expressed their opinion in the microphone for everyone to hear.

As the lecture ended, every student learned something they did not know before, and they will use the knowledge they learned when facing friends or bullies.
