2016 Shanghai Interntional Schools for Expatriate Children Chinese Culture on Campus Performance

On the night of November 11th, the “2016 Shanghai International Schools for Expatriate Children Chinese Culture on Campus Performance”, prepared by the City Board of Education and the Shanghai Technique and Art Education Center, was held in the auditorium of Jincai High School. All parts of the show, including string music piece “Mo Li Hua and Allegro”, and the Chinese guzheng piece “Cloud Chasing the Moon”, etc, received lots of applause from the audience.

The students from Shanghai High School International Division gave wonderful performances too. For instance, some of our students used a beautiful dance to give the audience a glimpse of the culture of the Dai people– an ethnic minority in China. SHSID also put on a Chinese string-instrument performance combined with Taichi and calligraphy, to give a sense of China’s deep literary traditions.

Last but not least, a performance of an originally produced Chinese musical lit up the whole night. SHSID’s vice general secretary, Zhang Zehong, and the principal of SHSID High School, Ma Feng, were in attendance and made a very high appraisal of the students. This night was overall a wonderful chance to put on show the interests and talents of the expatriate children of Shanghai’s international schools.
