Grades 7-8: Creative Art Club—A New Experience of Art Class

Mural painting is one of the earliest forms of painting in human history. Today, its function of decoration and beautification make it an important part of the environmental art.

The 7-8th Grade Creative Art Club has applied mural painting to the interior design of our art classrooms. From drafting, typesetting, and design to drawing on the walls, tracing and coloring, we completed a series of creative fresco designs. With the teachers’ guidance, students drew the sketches first, and then enlarged them in proportion on the walls. Because every detail of the murals has been magnified, it requires students to be thoughtful and draw everything perfectly.

The mural painting creation has not only improved the students' personal painting abilities, but has also been a lively and interesting cooperative activity. It has enhanced the tacit understanding between teachers and students.
