Puxi Grade 2: Reading Race Celebration

On November 3rd, Grade 2 students finished their ‘Reading Race’. The Reading Race lasted three weeks in total. All the students had a reading log that they kept in their English folders. They were recommended to read an appropriately leveled Chinese or English language book for at least half an hour every day. This was a ‘Reading Race’ because it was a race to see which student and which class could read for the highest number of minutes. Students who met their 630-minute reading goal were allowed to go to a celebration put on by the school. Those students celebrated their goal with coca cola, sprite, and pizza during homework time on November 3rd. Even though the race is finished now, we teachers still recommend our students to read every day.
