Grade 8: Visit Tou-se-we Museum
Grade 8: Visit Tou-se-we Museum
On the afternoon of October 13th, three classes from Grade 8 visited Tou-se-we Museum in Xujiahui District. During the field trip, every student engaged in the learning of new facts displayed throughout the museum. Because of a history assignment we were all assigned, many students enjoyed taking pictures of sources which would later contribute to their amazing projects!
This intriguing museum has quite a long history, dating back to the year of 1832. It was a hub of Western civilization, and opened the door to other cultures of the world. Artists were educated there, and many had achieved great fame.
As the curious students walked through the dark and mysterious rooms, they couldn't help but look at all the different exhibits to see what they were about. There were sculptures, wood cravings, paintings, and so on. All of them were creatively organized in every room we came to. As said in the museum, ‘it is a site where, buried in the dust of history, unforgettable memories can still be found’.
After we came out, there was still a little bit of time left, so the students talked about the museum and which exhibits they liked. Even though it was a short trip, it was a very meaningful one.
