Puxi Grade 4: Math Money Project

As we all know, effective money management is essential to success in life. In primary school, we teachers make an effort to help students develop good financial habits and establish the concept of smart spending.

The Grade Four Money Project gave every student a chance to become money smart and gain confidence with money management. This project required students to make a plan and set a goal for this task. We assumed that their parents gave them 288 Yuan to buy school snacks and lunches for two weeks. Every student kept track of what items they bought and how much money they spent daily. After two weeks, they were allowed to use the money left to buy gifts for themselves. All students were encouraged to shake the Piggy Bank each day to show their daily expenditure and make a graph with the data they collected every day.

Every grade four student took this assignment seriously, and turned in their project on time after the national holiday. Now they have a better understanding of how to spend money wisely and make responsible decisions.
