Grades 7-8: History Field Trip

On October 13rd, 2016, the 7th and 8th graders had their History field trip. The 7th Graders visited Shanghai Textile Museum, Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum, Shanghai Museum and the Shanghai Showroom for Historic Development of the City. The 8th graders went to the T’ou-Sè-Wè Museum, Shanghai Railway Museum, Sun Yat-sen Museum and the Shanghai City Planning Exhibition Hall respectively.

The students not only had a better understanding of the different aspects of the development of modern Shanghai from the images shown in the museums but also involved themselves in some source connection activities. They took pictures with primary sources they found within the museums, and analyzed them with their previously learned knowledge. This field trip made full use of the resources of Shanghai museums to help the students to learn the history around themselves and apply what they have learned in practice. Teachers and students both benefited a lot from it.
