Middle School Sports Meet
Middle School Sports Meet
Sports meet is an exciting event for the students in SHSID. Students are looking forward to an entertaining and challenging day of the school. It doesn’t matter if you are a girl or a boy, an athlete or a good learner, you always get to participate in events during Sports meet. On a particularly windy Monday, the long-awaited Sports Meeting for the 7th grade to the 8th grade was held for the entire afternoon.
Sports meet is broken into two parts. The first part of sports meet is the opening ceremony. During the opening ceremony, the classes attending sports meet will each give a performance to the head teachers of the school. The performances are all about sports, that contain a variety of themes, such as soccer, basketball, fencing, etc. The second part of sports meet is the actual sports and racing. The sports contain 100 meter run, 400 meter run, 800 meter run, 4x100 relay, shot throwing, long jump, high jump, and three-legged race. These events require different skills from students, for example, your balancing skills should be outstanding in order to do well in 3 legged race. Students have nearly 3 hours to compete with each other. They can win medals in each activity if they get a good ranking in the events.
An overall buzz of enthusiasm pervaded throughout much of the Sports Meeting, particularly among the participants, who struggled and strived to win. The final competition, the relay of teachers and 8th grade boys, especially stirred up the crowd, with a teachers’ group winning the race and generating a roar of approval.
The Sports Meeting was generally a great time for everybody and a day to be remembered. As of now, the results have not been announced yet, but many are certainly looking forward to it!
