Middle School: Stunning Sports Meet Opening Ceremony Performance

Shanghai High School International Division’s sports meeting are known for their extravagant opening events. Each year, the teachers come up with exciting sports or themes for each class to perform in front of the other students. And this year, the theme for middle school sports meet was the Olympics, regarding recent events in Brazil.

Starting off with performances from the seventh grade, everyone clad in blue, the students feasted their eyes on the performed sports. Then, moving on to the eighth grade, everyone clad in black, amazing tricks and sports were presented in variations of styles. There was even one boy dressed as Captain America! Sadly, the performances by the seventh and eighth grade students had to come to an end with the students lining up along the grass lawn.

Then, skilled cheerleaders from the lower and higher grades gave spectacular performances, showcasing their acrobatic, gymnastic, and dancing skills. There were flips, jumps, leaps, and aerial stunts that people were blown away by. Directly following the cheerleaders, our own grade director Mr. Ni and our school’s principal Mr. Liu officially announced the commencement of our sports meeting with great speeches.
