Symposium of High School Chinese Group

‘The Apprentice’ is a reputed tradition at Shanghai High School International Division, which serves as a platform for new teachers to refine their teaching skills in class. This semester, the form of ‘The Apprentice’ for high school Chinese group is class video observation and comment. New high school Chinese teachers need to record one of his/her classes and then present to all other new teachers and his/her master at the symposium.

On the afternoon of September 22ed, high school Chinese teachers held their 1st research and career development seminar. After watching 2 new teachers’ video, teachers began to discuss. Someone said teacher A was fluent both in English and Chinese which could benefit students a lot. Another new teacher said that the communication between teacher B and her students was perfect. Also, all teachers reached the agreement that these 2 teachers could highlight important points in the text…This one-hour seminar benefited all new teachers as it provided us with a vivid picture of how to improve our teaching.
