College Counseling Course – Mock Admissions Discussion

On Sep 28 2016, Grade 12 students participated in a mock admissions process during CAS class, where students themselves played the roles of Admissions Officers and analyzed three mock applicant profiles.

The discussion took place in the XMT auditorium. Led by SHSID College Counselor Ms. Zhang Nan, seven student representatives discussed and debated each applicant profile on stage, analyzing aspects such as academics, extracurricular, and application essays.

Looking at the application process from the other side of the table, students reflected that this event has helped them gain a more extensive understanding of the AOs’ selection process.
