International Division High School Math Faculty's Research and Development Seminar

On the afternoon of September 21st, the International Division High School Math faculty held their first research and development seminar. ‘The Apprentice’ is a virtuous and long-standing tradition at Shanghai High School, which serves as a learning and professional development platform for our new teachers. In this sharing session, new teachers presented and reflected on real cases that they have encountered since the beginning of the semester. They shared with the other teachers the measures they deployed to in order to organize and coordinate their classes. A few new teachers even reenacted these cases vividly! Everyone present exchanged their methods for dealing with some common classroom situations. This led to a heated discussion, raising many solutions in order to improve these approaches. This one-hour seminar benefited all the teachers in that it provided them with new perspectives on ‘learning by doing’.
