Grade 5-8 Chinese Group:New Teachers’ Wishes

At the beginning of the 2016 academic year, Grade 5 to 8 ushered in several new Chinese language teachers. These new teachers have solid knowledge of the course materials and are full of youthful vigor, which should greatly enhance the vitality of Grade 5 to 8’s Chinese group.

Let’s have a look at how they introduced themselves in their welcome speeches, to get a sense of just how great they are…

Di Hu, currently a Grade 5 Chinese teacher, said this is her second year at SHSID and her first year teaching Grade 5 students. She feels very happy to have them with her every day, and hopes that they can make progress together in this new school year.

Lijiao Tian, who has undertaken the teaching of Chinese Grade 7 and 8, told us that though she is dealing with the pressures of a work new environment, she is fortunate enough to have met some very excellent predecessors. Their help, understanding, and selfless dedication had helped her to adapt quickly to the life here! She gave special thanks to the head of year, the grade group leader, and her mentor. They have taught her how to become a qualified and excellent teacher!

Na Zhao, who is engaged in teaching Chinese to Grade 5 and 6, talked about his early days as a teacher. Facing groups of naive children, she felt a deep understanding of her mission, and hoped to care for the growth of each student through her heartfelt efforts as their teacher.

Xinfang Wang, a Grade 8 teacher, said that after two weeks she believes in her bones that she has so much to learn, especially when it comes to classroom management. She had previously thought that as long as she fully prepared her lesson plans and then delivered them effectively to the students, there would be nothing else to do. But she changed her mind the moment she faced the smart and naughty students from the International Division. What enlightened her most is that she has begun to realize that it takes much more to be a good teacher than she previously imagined. After several classes, she began to discover that it meant much more than words. She needed much more enthusiasm, concentration and patience. She will do her utmost to improve herself to meet the standards of an excellent teacher.

In addition to the above new teachers, there are other new teachers in the Chinese group who are equally caring and enthusiastic. We are delighted to see them march forward and accumulate strength step by step. They will water our young flowers with sweat to help them blossom all the more beautifully in the future. Our new teachers are not only the most beautiful sight in our Chinese group, but also the loveliest members of the SHS family!
