Grade 9: Course Day for Parents

Although the night was falling, SHSID’s Xianmian Auditorium and Zhongxing Building were ablaze with light. Parents of Grade 9 students came to the school for the Course Day, a high school curriculum info-session. The 1st part of the session in the Xianmian Auditorium started with a video illustrating the high school curriculum mission and overall framework. Then Mr. Ma Feng, High School Principal, Ms. Liu Shan, Coordinator of Teaching, Ms. Liu Min, Director of Grades 9-10 and Ms. Cui Mengdi, Head of Teacher Advisors all gave speeches on curriculum features, teaching management, the college counseling service, etc. After the speech, parents came to the 2nd venue, Zhongxing Building. Subject teachers and the college counselors explained to the parents about the course flow chart, the prerequisites of different course levels, IB/AP courses, and also answered their questions. The course day session helped to clarify the targets of students for parents, who may help their children make better plans and progress in the coming 4 years.
