Puxi Grades 5&6: Opening Ceremony

After 2 long months' of vacation, the day that all the students awaited for finally came. The 1st semester of the 2016 school year in SHSID officially started on September 1st, 2016.

The opening ceremony, happening in the afternoon, certainly was an important event on the very 1st day of school. At the beginning, student representatives from Grade 5 and 6 gave us speeches. The speeches included useful tips for how to do well in 5th and 6th grades. The representatives provided us with some doable guidelines to follow, and they are especially helpful to students of the same age.

Then, Mr. Liu, Principle of Middle School and Primary School, came up to speak to us. He told us about how to study and the different levels of studying attitudes. He summarized the good and bad attitudes towards studying, which is the key to achieving high academic scores.

After that, Ms. Luo, Director of 5th and 6th grades, presented a long list of what we did well and aspects needing improvement in the last semester. I hope that we will improve over this semester. Ms. Luo also informed us of the new activities and lessons we are having this year. Hope we all enjoy it!

At last, it was time to hand out the awards. Many students achieved prizes such as “Excellent Studies”, “Good Studies”, “Social Activities”, “Best Behavior”, and so on. Some students were very excited getting their scholarship. Congratulations! And hope they will keep up the good work.

This is the beginning of a new school year, and things are going to change for the better. And what all of us can do is to keep ourselves in our best status all the time.
