2016 SHSID Junior Section Graduation Ceremony

On June 22nd, 2016, the 8th graders held the graduation ceremony that they had dreamed of for a long time. Everyone was excited to receive their middle school diploma, but felt sad to leave their dear friends and teachers at the same time.

The ceremony began with the wind & string ensemble’s wonderful performances. Afterwards, student representative, Nicole Zhou, and parent representative, Rachel Wu’s mother, delivered meaningful speeches about how to adapt and make changes in the world along with how to communicate effectively with children. While the big screen showed the splendid pictures for the graduates during the past years, Director Ni delivered his speech with the topic “You Are Amazing!”. Principal Liu wished that we would prevail in every aspect.

Then, the most exciting moment came with a big applause. It was the time for awarding the graduation diplomas. Everyone felt that all the hard work was paid off and was thankful for receiving the diploma. Meanwhile, students realized that they were heading towards adulthood and maturity. Next came the ceremony of honoring outstanding graduates. Ten candidates out of 285 graduates won this honorable title. They were invited to the stage to receive the certificate and trophy from Director Ni and Principal Liu.

Finally, the graduation ceremony ended with the graduation video and graduation song Friends Forever. With the words of “We Graduated!”, graduates threw their hats into the air. Congratulations! Wish you all the best and look forward towards high school!
