Opening ceremony of the First Drama Festival of Grade 9-10

The opening ceremony of the first Drama Festival of Grade 9-10 was held in the school’s music theater on May 31st. The show began with the cheerful "caribou island" performed by the school’s string orchestra instructed by Ms. Donfang. As an experienced host of the Drama Festival, Stephanie from Grade 10, maintained the energy of the house, and weaved the thread that linked all performers and the audience together. The passion and initiative of every member of the SHSID drama clubs were greatly inspired by the school leaders. Wonderful performances dedicated by the Acappella group singing club, the popular dance club, and the piano " Rigoletto " played by Takayasu from Grade 9 were all spectacular.

The drama performance is very much a part of the life of the school and different drama clubs have earned a reputation for high quality performances. The Drama Festival with so many clubs involved gives all the students the chance to experience drama in a professional setting with a full band, set, customs and make-up. Performance is very important for all students and being part of a team that tells a story on stage is crucial to one’s education. Backstage opportunities as well as plenty of performance roles are provided.
