Grade 11:Company Visiting—ICS Channel

A group of 29 students visited the Shanghai Media Group on the afternoon of May 25th. We were introduced to how the International Channel Shanghai (ICS), a foreign language cable channel, functioned. Our tour guides taught us how raw footage was filmed and how it was compiled with videos from third-party sources and voiceovers or video recordings. They showed us where broadcasts were recorded and introduced us to the equipment used to produce the finalized videos we see daily on TV. At the end of the tour, we were led to rooms where the ideas were created -- the green room, blue room, red room and rainbow room. To help us remember this joyous and meaningful afternoon, ICS gave us all a practical gift to bring home -- a cap to shield us from the blinding sun.
