Grade 10 Survival Training Report (3): Dragon Boat Racing

After building their tents, another challenging activity was waiting for the tenth grade students in the afternoon of 25 -- the dragon boat race. Riding a boat and driving it forward requires not only strong physical abilities but more importantly: coordination among the crews. The two sides have to balance forces to control the direction of the boat. Also, in order to make more speed, the two sides must row in harmony. This makes dragon boat a perfect training on teamwork, which is essential for survival. Each team was split in two groups and took onto 28 boats. Each group worked hard to go around the island on the river and return to the starting point as quick as possible. Even though it was a tiring quest and everyone's arms soared after finishing the race, student’s hard work paid off. They had all accomplished it. Everyone had fun and were positive about the activity in the afternoon.
